In doing so, the five built upon the impressive achievements of past Cologne international criminal law teams, which have repeatedly reached the quarterfinals and once even secured second place. Approximately 100 teams participated in the competition. In the knockout rounds, the Cologne team faced two U.S. teams and was evaluated by, among others, international defense attorney Dov Jacobs, who sat on the judging panel.
The faculty congratulates the team warmly on its impressive success!
The team was supported by the Institute for International Peace and Security Law (Prof. Dr. Claus Kreß), with training provided by research associate Lea Brakel, and research associates Christian Kaerkes and Philipp Terfurth. The team extends its heartfelt thanks for all the moral support and for the generous financial backing from the Faculty of Law’s support association and the Association for the Promotion of Criminal Sciences.
