Teresa Fachinger

Teresa Fachinger has been a doctoral student under the supervision of Prof. Claus Kreß since March 2024. She had previously studied Liberal Arts with a focus on Governance at University College Freiburg and SciencesPo Grenoble and successfully completed her Bachelor's degree with a thesis on theories of democratic transformation.

Ms Fachinger harbors an in-depth interest not only in international politics but also in international law led her to subsequently study law in Cologne, specialising in international public law, which she completed in 2023 with the First State Examination. During this time, she led the interdisciplinary study project PROTEUS on European Studies for two years.

In addition to her research interests in international and European law, international peace and security law and international human rights law, she is particularly interested in migration law. Ms. Fachinger not only conducted research in this area, but also worked for many years in the Refugee Law Clinic, advising those affected by asylum proceedings.

She is a member of the Cologne Center for Advanced Studies in International History and Law.
