Philipp Terfurth
Philipp Terfurth studied law in Cologne and Reims with a specialization in Public International and European Law. He passed the First State Exam in 2022.
Since November 2022, Philipp Terfurth works as research assistant at the Institute of International Peace and Security Law. He gives complementary classes on general criminal law and coaches the ICC Moot Court Team at the University of Cologne on International Criminal Law. He is writing his PhD thesis under the supervision of Prof. Claus Kreß on the topic of Non-state actors as law-makers with a focus on the practice of peace agreements.
Furthermore, Mr. Terfurth is interested in the rules of conduct in armed conflicts in humanitarian law and in international criminal law, the intersection of ethics and public international law and international environmental law. Currently he works in the research section of the Climate Clinic, a student project working on issues of climate and environmental law. In 2022 Mr. Terfurth worked for a law firm specialized in public law related disputes in Bonn.
