Elena Barth

Elena Barth has been a doctoral candidate at the Institute for International Peace and Security Law since April 2025. She previously studied law at the University of Bayreuth and passed the First State Examination in March 2024. In addition, she completed a supplementary program in economics with a focus on international economics.

During her studies, she worked for several years as a student assistant at the Chair for Public Law, Constitutional Theory, and Legal Philosophy under Professor Carsten Bäcker. She was also a member of the editorial board of the Bayreuther Zeitschrift für Rechtswissenschaft and founded a student initiative that connects students at the University of Bayreuth with local volunteer projects.

Her academic interests primarily lie in international peace and security law, international human rights protection, and German constitutional law.

She is currently employed at the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
